Dick Penner – 1955: Manager, Sunset State Champion Track Team, 1955; Senior Play, “Too Many Dates”, 1955; former English Professor; Co-Composer, “Ooby Dooby”, Roy Orbison’s Rockabilly classic.
James Rutledge – 1955: Sunset Student Body President, 1954; President, Senior Class; Baseball and Basketball letterman; Played Baseball at TCU; 50 year career in Insurance Industry; President, Dallas Association of Life Underwriters; “Life Underwriter of the Year”, 1981; Named to Hall of Fame, 1998; Founding Member, The Sunset Foundation, Inc.
Mary Holland Rutledge  - 1955: Formed Girls Sports Club at Sunset; President, Dallas School Board, 1987-91; Member, Dallas Radio Commission (WRR Radio); First female Chair, Board of Deacons, Cliff Temple Baptist Church; President, Dallas Metropolitan YWCA Board; National Volunteer Advisor, March of Dimes; “National March of Dimes Volunteer”, 1975
Robert Robinson – 1956: All District, All City, All State  on Sunset’s 1955 State Semi-Final Football  Team; 1955 National High School All-America Team; Winner of Bell Award as “Most Outstanding Athlete in Dallas County”; MVP of State All Star Football Game; MVP of 1956 SMU Freshman Football Team.
Bob Bozman – 1956: Member, 1955 Sunset State Semi-Final Football Team; City and Regional Hurdles and Sprint Relay Champion; SWC Hurdles Champion and Member Record Setting Mile Relay at SMU; SMU Student Body Vice President; President, SMU Alumni Association; Board Member, Mustang Club and SMU Letterman’s Association
Frances Brazelton – 1957: Captain, Sunset Bisonettes; Officer, Kilgore College Rangerettes; Founder, Dallas Tap Dazzlers in 1990, a group of 22 ladies 50 years and older who dance and perform for patriotic, civic and business events, totaling some 2,000 shows since founding.
Pete Stonestreet – 1958: Captain, All District, All City, All County in Football, Basketball and Baseball at Sunset;  Third Team All State in Basketball; University of Houston Football and Baseball letterman; Hanta Award for Outstanding Baseball Player and NCAA District Six All Stars, 1962.
Glen Waggoner – 1958: Won 1st Place in UIL Sports Writing at Sunset, 1957; Founder of ESPN The Magazine; author of several books about sports figures; one of Founders of Rotisserie Baseball League, forerunner of all fantasy sports games played by millions; Member, National Baseball Hall of Fame, Writer’s Division, Cooperstown, NY.
